Once found, I choose and cut down pieces of logs, which I turn for a first rough-hewing. Then follows a drying period for the wooden salad bowl. When the bowls are thoroughly dried, I turn them to their final shape on the wood lathe. Finally I apply a non-toxic finish to the wooden bowls and the salad bowls.
Wash with soapy water and dry well. Apply a new coat of beeswax for salad bowl, if needed. Rinse bowl after use (to avoid leaving salad dressing all night long).
